Casio MQ 24

Watch I bought while in Lisbon. Simple, cheap and practicle.

Development of Gambia Brief.

Looking into the idea of furniture as a souvenir, Something tourists can take away from their travels and actually make use of and experience on a regular basis. The obvious problem is that of expensive and unpractical transportation. This could be avoided by the employment of either flat pack design or just instructions/plans of how to construct your own furniture.

As a tourist the building and craftsmanship involved in the construction of the chair could trigger memories of their travels as well as reminding them that not everyone can go out and purchase furniture.

I would hope that the designs would be cheap, sustainable and a hybrid of African craftsmanship and Western style. Allowing them to fit into a range of interiors while still being specific to The Gambia and Africa.

African Furniture.

Vibrant chairs with an African twist. A meeting of Western and African styles, something I would like to explore while in The Gambia.

The "Binta Armchair" is a casual chair that explodes with the color and creativity of some of Africa's great artists with a nice cushy welcoming seat. See more from the Moroso Italian furniture collection as well as the rest of the M'Afrique collection.
